PST redaction software for records offices and legal teams

Redact a PST or Outlook export.
Nothing needs converting first.

RecordBeacon is redaction software for email productions. It reads every message in the export, flags what may need to come out, and holds each mark for your reviewer.

We run a sample set of scanned reports and email exports on the call, or your own files if your policy allows. No card to try it yourself.

From one export to a released set.

01

Upload the export

Each email becomes its own record, and so does each attachment. A message and its attachments stay grouped.

02

Overlap is caught

A message that sits in two custodians' exports is caught as a duplicate, so nobody reads it twice.

03

Your reviewer decides

Each flag carries the reason it was raised. Your reviewer approves or rejects it and can draw a box on anything detection missed.

04

Release with the record

The release records who decided each mark, by name and time.

A black rectangle is not a redaction.

A box drawn over live text in a PDF is a box drawn over live text. Select the page, paste it somewhere, and the name you covered is still there.

Released pages here are rebuilt as images, so redacted text is gone from the file, and the output is checked before it leaves.

For a records response or a production.

Records offices

Intake, routing and the deadline clock stay wherever they are today, whether that is a request platform or a shared mailbox.

Public records redaction for agencies and public records laws by state.

Legal teams

For a production, the flags cover names, account numbers, medical details and privileged content.

How it works for law firms, the questions to ask any redaction vendor and a free Bates stamper.

Where the export lives during review.

  • United States regions only. Records do not leave them.
  • Zero data retention with the model provider. Your documents are never used to train anything, by us or by anyone else.
  • Role-based access.
  • Encryption in transit and at rest.

Questions about email exports

Can it handle a large email export?

Yes. An email search that returns thousands of pages is a normal upload here.

Does it redact emails automatically?

No. Detection flags what it finds and stops, and the release step refuses to run while any mark is undecided. A tool that redacts on its own and then asks you to check its work has not saved anyone anything.
